         Elite Cup 2019 Champions
St Augustine's Catholic Primary School

Thursday 18th April 2019 was a day to remember...

More than 115 youngsters came together at the Three Hills Sports Park, Folkestone, for a fun five-a-side football tournament.

The event involved a number of games for children aged seven tonine years old representing 12 schools from across Folkestone, Ashford, Canterbury and Eastry.

The day was split into two parts:the morning spent coaching key skills with a couple of fun challenges to attempt (cross bar challenge and a penalty shootout), and the afternoon spent in a fun yet competitive tournament of games.

The Elite Cup Tournament was organised to allow children from Key Stage 2 (7 years to 9 years) the opportunity to experience a game environment and put learnt skills into action. With the sun shining and goals being fired in every direction, the children had a fantastic day with St Augustine's Catholic Primary School being the final winners of the tournament. Well done to these children!

That being said, I personally want to thank all the children for being such great sports in both their physical skills and their attitudes to the game. Well done everybody who took part and we hope you had a great day!

Another thank you must be said to the parents who not only allowed their children to participate but also showed great encouragement from the side lines. We appreciate your support for the children in their sporting developments.

The tournament was an amazing success and we hope to continue to run further events. Watch this space...

Many thanks to our sponsor Sandgate Printers.

Look forward to seeing you all soon at the courses.
